Tracing its roots as grape growers back to 1625, Champagne Cattier remains one of the region’s few independent, family-owned houses. Today, under the guidance of Alexandre Cattier, part of the fourth generation to craft Champagne, the house continues a legacy now spanning thirteen generations. Renowned for the quality and consistency of its wines, Cattier faithfully expresses the pure terroir of the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims.

Cattier’s winemaking approach centres on translating terroir directly into the glass. Their multi-vintage blends feature a large portion of a reserve of wines going back up to ten years with no oak influence. They express a harmonious character from the grapes that come from 33 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, centred around Chigny-Les-Roses, Rilly-La-Montage and Ludes on the Montagne de Reims.

At the pinnacle of the estate’s identity lies the Clos du Moulin, a 2.2ha walled vineyard acquired in 1951 and planted with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Among the first clos to

be reintroduced into the champagne landscape, the Clos du Moulin cuvee is a unique blend of a base vintage enhanced by a proportion from a perpetual reserve which features traces of the first Clos du Moulin wines, dating back to the 1950s.
