The UWC Samos is one of Greece's oldest and largest cooperatives, founded in 1934 by island vine growers to preserve viticulture and protect producers' incomes. Today, it comprises 2,200 members and plays a key role in producing and exporting Samos wines, which are renowned internationally. Samos Muscat, with its Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), is one of Greece’s most celebrated wines, with hundreds of awards from global competitions.
The cooperative operates two modern wineries in Malagari and Karlovassi, with a total capacity of 20,000 tons. It combines traditional viticulture and winemaking with advanced technology, adhering to ISO and HACCP certifications. UWC Samos continues to innovate while upholding its rich heritage, contributing to the island’s status as a top Greek wine ambassador worldwide.
