This fine wine is our expression of the distinguished Cypriot local variety Maratheftiko. The careful selection of the vinegrowers, our vineyard coming of age, the meticulous selection of the best berries by hand, and careful winemaking all resulted in producing this elegant wine. You will enjoy the characteristic violet aroma, with an underlying spice and a long, rich aftertaste.
Grape Origin: Pachna, Omodos, Malia, Krasochoria Lemesou
Classification: P.G.l. Limassol
Soil: Chalky soils at an altitude of 750m above sea level, bush and trellis vines on the Southern slopes of Troodos mountains.
Grape Variety: 100% Maratheftiko
Vinification: After a careful process of grape selection by hand on a sorting table, the grapes are gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes place between 17 and 20ºC. MLF is completed on skins, resulting in a 3-week post-fermentation maceration. The wine ages for 10 to 14 months in 1 to 3-year-old large oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: The scent of violets, which is so characteristic of the Maratheftiko grape, is immediately apparent on the nose. The bouquet is complimented by aromas of black cherries and enriched by an elegant layer of sweet spice from the barrel aging. The wine has rich, round flavours of red fruit and soft tannins.
General Characteristics: Intense colour, aromatic, full-bodied, aging potential of 5-10 years.
